FORIEGN MINISTER OF TURKEY CALLS FOREIGN MINISTER QURESHI

The Foreign Minister of Turkey, Ali Babacan, telephoned Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi to congratulate him on assumption of office as Foreign Minister of Pakistan. The Turkish Foreign Minister, while referring to historic relationship between the two sides, expressed the hope that bilateral relations will further be expanded. The Turkish Foreign Minister said that in order to meet the elected government and the political leadership of Pakistan , he was planning to visit Islamabad in a couple of weeks.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan thanked his Turkish counterpart for the telephone call and said that he was looking forward to Foreign Minister Ali Babacan's visit to Pakistan .

The Foreign Minister said the people of Pakistan greatly valued their historic relationship with the people of Turkey . It was a relationship between the peoples of the two countries which had continued to strengthen over a long period of time.
