LORD NAZIR AHMED CALLS ON THE FOREIGN MINISTER

 

Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotherham called on the Foreign Minister today.  They exchanged views on relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom and the regional situation. Lord Nazir appreciated Pakistan’s cooperative, rational and mature approach towards India in the wake of Mumbai attacks.

The Foreign Minister lauded the Pakistani community in the UK who have excelled in diverse professions and were contributing in a major way to the UK’s political and economic development.

The Foreign Minister said that the community serves to strengthen the cultural bonds between the two countries and people.  He exchanged views with Lord Nazir on ways and means to effectively utilize the Pakistani community in Britain for not only strengthening bilateral relations but also promotion and projection of Pakistan’s interests.

They agreed to maintain contact to achieve the objectives to be set out for the strengthening of bilateral relations and projection of Pakistan.
