FOREIGN MINISTER MAKHDOOM SHAH MAHMOOD QURESHI MEETS BRITISH FOREIGN MINISTER DAVID MILIBAND
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with his British counterpart in Paris . The two foreign Ministers are in Paris to attend the International Conference in Support of Afghanistan .
During the meeting both leaders discussed bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Foreign Minister Qureshi and Foreign Minister David Miliband have kept close contact with each other since the return of democratic government to Pakistan . David Miliband was one of the first foreign ministers to visit Pakistan after Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi took over as Foreign Minister.
Foreign Minister Qureshi said Pakistan attached great importance to its long standing cordial relations with UK , which represent shared values and commonality of perceptions on many regional and global issues. The presence of a large Pakistani Diaspora in Britain further cements this relationship.
Foreign Minister Miliband appreciated Pakistan 's role in the war against terrorism and expressed support for Pakistan 's multi-pronged strategy to fight extremism and terrorism in tribal areas.
The two Foreign Ministers also discussed cooperation between Pakistan and Britain in international organizations.
