FOREIGN MINISTER MAKHDOOM SHAH MAHMOOD QURESHI MEETS WITH MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH AFFAIRS OF BRITAIN .

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of Britain, Mr. Bill Rammell in New York on the sidelines of the High Level Session of UN General Assembly.

During the meeting both leaders discussed bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Foreign Minister Qureshi said Pakistan attached great importance to its long standing cordial relations with UK , which represent shared values and commonality of perceptions on many regional and global issues. The presence of a large Pakistani Diaspora in Britain further cements this relationship. The Foreign Minister also appreciated the proactive role and support being extended by Britain in the Friends of Democratic Pakistan Forum.

Mr. Bill Rammell appreciated Pakistan 's role in the war against terrorism and assured Britain 's continued support to all aspects of bilateral relations including trade, development assistance and investment in Pakistan .
