FOREIGN MINISTER QURESHI RECEIVES THE PRESIDENT OF AJK

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi received Raja Zulqarnain Khan, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir today. The two leaders discussed the progress made during the President's recent visits to European Union countries and the United States of America in projecting the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

President Raja Zulkarnain Khan termed his visit to the United States , Spain , Italy , United Kingdom and Ireland as being extremely useful and productive. He apprised the Foreign Minister of his meetings with the Pakistani\Kashmiri Community and Politicians from across the political spectrum. He, in particular, highlighted his meetings with Members of Parliament and Members of European Parliament during which he not only made them aware of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute but also persuaded them to lend their support for its peaceful resolution.

The President further apprised the Foreign Minster of his meeting with Pentagon officials. He also briefed him on his meetings with US Congressmen in Washington DC . and address to selected British MPs at the House of Commons in London .

The Foreign Minster appreciated the efforts of the President in highlighting the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He underlined the importance of both the United States and the European Union in the International arena and assured him of his support for further projecting the Kashmir cause in the international place.
