FOREIGN MINISTER QURESHI RECEIVES TELEPHONE CALL FROM NORWEGIAN FOREIGN MINISTER

The Foreign Minister of Norway, Mr. Jonas Gahr Stǿre made a telephone call to Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi today.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister extended his felicitations to the Foreign Minister on the Independence Day of Pakistan and wished progress and prosperity to the people of Pakistan . He expressed his delight at being the guest of honour at the Independence Day celebrations in Oslo together with Pakistan 's Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr. Nazar Muhammad Gondal. The Norwegian Minister expressed satisfaction at the useful exchange of views that he had with Mr. Gondal. He hoped that bilateral relations between the two countries would further strengthen in the days to come.

The Norwegina Foreign Minister also expressed appreciation at Pakistan 's counter terrorism efforts. He complimented the Government of Pakistan for a successful operation in Swat and Malakand region and reiterated his Government's support to these efforts and for the rehabilitation of the people dislocated from the region.
