SAUDI AMBASSADOR CALLS ON THE FOREIGN MINISTER

 

The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Ghadeer, called on the Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi today.  They exchanged views on bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest. They expressed satisfaction over the existing excellent relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The Foreign Minister appreciated the determination of the Ambassador towards promoting relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.   He said Pakistan greatly valued its distinguished relations with the Kingdom and was keen to further strengthen its relations with Saudi Arabia in various fields especially in the economic, commerce and investment sectors.

The Foreign Minister also raised the matter regarding the five Pakistanis arrested on drug charges at Jeddah airport on 2 June 2009 and urged the need for an early resolution of the matter. 

The Saudi Ambassador thanked the Foreign Minister for the help and assistance he has been receiving from Pakistan Government in the performance of his functions and stated that he would continue to work for enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields and pay particular attention to enhance Saudi investment in Pakistan.
