FOREIGN MINISTER QURESHI MEETS UAE FOREIGN MINISTER
Foreign Minister of Pakistan Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdallah Bin Zayid Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the Friends of Democratic Pakistan (FODP) Ministerial meeting at Istanbul today. The two Foreign Ministers discussed issues of mutual interest.
The UAE Foreign Minister greatly appreciated Pakistan's efforts against violence and extremism and assured of his country's continued support in Pakistan's long-term socio-economic development. In this regard, the UAE Foreign Minister proposed that a meeting around the theme of public-private partnership within the framework of FODP could be held in Dubai early next year. He assured Foreign Minister Qureshi that his Government would continue encouraging the UAE private sector to invest more in Pakistan, especially in the fields of Energy and Agriculture.
The two Foreign Ministers also agreed to convene the next Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission at UAE early next year along with the proposed event of public-private partnership.
Foreign Minister Qureshi thanked the UAE for its support to the FODP process and contributing actively for its success.
