FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS AMBASSADORS OF UAE, QATAR, OMAN AND CD’A OF SAUDI ARABIA

 

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, held separate meetings with the Ambassadors of UAE, Qatar, Oman and the Charge d’ Affaires of Saudi Arabia today in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

The Foreign Minister briefed the Ambassadors on the evolving situation in Swat and adjoining areas and updated them on the humanitarian assistance being provided to the dislocated people.  The Foreign Minister thanked the Ambassadors for support extended to Pakistan by their respective countries and for standing shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan in these difficult times.  The Foreign Minister emphasized that while security operations are proceeding successfully, it is imperative that the dislocated people are provided adequate relief assistance. 

The Government of Pakistan is sparing no effort in this regard and the people of Pakistan count on the support of Muslim brotherly countries, with whom we enjoy fraternal relations.

The Foreign Minister also handed over a letter from the President of Pakistan addressed to the leaders of these countries, seeking their continued support in this hour of need.
