FOREIGN MINISTER QURESHI EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES OVER THE DEATH OF UN OFFICIALS

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed his deep condolences on the passing away of Mr. Aleksander Vorkapic, UNHCR official (from Serbia ) and Ms. Perseveranda So, UNICEF official (from the Philippines) in a cowardly and heinous act of terrorism at Pearl Continental Hotel, Peshawar on 9 June 2009.

The Foreign Minister said that the two international civil servants lost their lives while serving the humanity. Their services will always be remembered by the Government and the people of Pakistan . Foreign Minister Qureshi also stated that such despicable acts of terrorism only serve to further strengthen our national resolve to fight against terrorism. He expressed full confidence that Pakistan , with the support of the international community, will eventually succeed in this fight.
