JOINT POLITICAL DECLARATION ON INTENSIFIED COOPERATION AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF HIGH LEVEL COOPERATION COUNCIL BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY AND THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN
• Preamble
The relationship between the Republic of Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan rests on the strong foundations of bonds of history, culture, fraternity and solidarity .
This unique relationship benefits from the long standing mutual cordial feelings between the two peoples which transcend geographic distances.
The two countries and peoples have a solid record of mutual assistance and solidarity in times of difficulty.
The two countries also have the joint vision of an auspicious future at home, in their neighborhood and in the world.
Accordingly, Turkey and Pakistan share the objectives of the promotion of regional and international peace, stability, freedom, and prosperity.
The two countries are determined to build on the staunch people to people bonds to elevate their cooperation to unprecedented levels to the benefit of their peoples.
Both countries agree to cooperate to overcome regional and global challenges and to benefit from opportunities.
The two countries are committed to reinvigorate the mechanisms of dialogue for intensified political and economic cooperation.
Both countries commit to further developing their unique partnership based on Intensified Cooperation aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Reiterating their resolve to reinforce their close cooperation in different areas, both sides have decided to form a bilateral High Level Cooperation Council.
Against this background, this document sets out the modalities of the High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC), as well as Intensified Cooperation to be carried forward under the direction of the HLCC.
II. High Level Cooperation Council
• The High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) hereby instituted will be co-chaired by the Prime Ministers of the Republic of Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
• Specific composition of the members of each HLCC meeting may change in accordance with the agenda of that meeting.
• The main purpose of the HLCC is to oversee and steer the unique partnership and intensified cooperation between the two countries.
• The HLCC in Prime Ministers' Session shall convene at least once a year alternately in Pakistan and Turkey .
• Coordination of the work of the HLCC and finalization of its agenda and composition for each meeting will be undertaken by HLCC in Foreign Ministers' Session.
• The two Ministers of F
