FOREIGN MINISTER QURESHI MEETS IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Mr. Manouchehr Mottaki, Foreign Minister of Iran at UN Headquarters and exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international issues.
The two leaders noted with satisfaction the 20% increase in Pakistan-Iran bilateral trade. The Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project also came under discussion. The need for further expansion of bilateral economic and trade relations was also emphasized during the meeting.
They exchanged views on trilateral cooperation between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan to combat terrorism and drug trafficking in the region. They also exchanged views on UN reform, particularly UN Security Council reform.
