A two member delegation of First Step Forum led by its Co-Chairperson, Mrs. Eija-Riita Korhola, a Member of the European Parliament from Finland , called on the Foreign Minister today.

The First Step Forum is an international organization committed to promote democracy and religious freedoms across the globe and to work for conflict resolution.

The Foreign Minister appreciated the work being done by the First Step Forum in promoting democracy and building bridges among various cultures, religions, organizations and governments to build a better tomorrow.

The Foreign Minister recalled Forum's association with former Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and lauded its efforts for the restoration of democracy in Pakistan .

Mrs. Eija-Riita Korhola assured the Foreign Minister continued support of the First Step Forum for the promotion of human rights and strengthening of democracy in Pakistan . She said Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not only a popular leader in Pakistan but also a role model for women of the world particularly for women in Muslim countries.
