The Ambassador of Oman in Islamabad, H.E Mr. Mohammad Said Mohammad Al-Lawati, called on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi today. The Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction over the existing relations between the countries and commended the Ambassador for working to further promote these relations.
The Foreign Minister thanked the Government of Oman for providing generous assistance to the recent flood affectees and expressed the hope that the sultanate of Oman would continue its cooperation in meeting the huge challenge caused by the floods.
The Omani Ambassador expressed his solidarity and sympathy with the Government and the people of Pakistan over the damage and colossal devastation caused by the floods.
The Government of Oman has announced relief assistance worth US$ 5.2 million. They have sent two loads plane of relief assistance. In addition, two thousand tones of relief assistance consisting food stuff, tents and drinking water will be procured locally and distributed among the flood affectees.
