Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned his French, Italian and Spanish counterparts today to brief them about the latest flood situation in the country. He also apprised them of the ongoing rescue and relief operations in all the four provinces of the country.

The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the three countries bilaterally as well as through the EU. He commended their governments’ solidarity with the people of Pakistan in this hour of need.

The Foreign Ministers of France, Italy and Spain reiterated their governments’ sympathy and solidarity with the government and the people of Pakistan in the face of this unprecedented calamity. They also assured the Foreign Minister of their countries’ continued support to meet this challenge.
