Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi today held telephone conversations with British Foreign Secretary Rt. Hon William Hauge and the Polish Foreign Minister, Mr. Radoslaw Sikorski. The Foreign Minister briefed them on the devastation caused by the floods and the relief operations underway in the affected areas. He also apprised them of medium and long-term rehabilitation requirements. The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity of UK and Poland with the government and the people of Pakistan. The British and Polish Foreign Ministers assured the Foreign Minister that their governments would continue extending all possible assistance to Pakistan to address the challenges resulting from the massive floods.
