Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a telephonic conversation with Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Simth today. Both expressed satisfaction over growing bilateral ties especially in education, agriculture and health sectors as well as cooperation in counterterrorism.
Reiterating his invitation, Foreign Minister Stephen Smith expressed the hope that the Foreign Minister would be able to visit Australia soon. Both sides expected concrete outcomes from the Foreign Minister’s visit.
The Australian Foreign Minister welcomed the recent Foreign Secretary-level meeting between India and Pakistan in New Delhi and expressed the hope that the meeting would lead to the resumption of the dialogue process. He also expressed sympathy over the dastardly terrorist attack in Lahore yesterday which claimed many innocent lives.
