Foreign Minister Qureshi meets Prince Muqrim Bin Abdul Aziz in Jeddah

 

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met HRH Prince Muqrim Bin Abdul Aziz, Chief of Intelligence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia yesterday. The Foreign Minister delivered him a special message from the President of Pakistan to Khadim Al-Harmain Shrifain King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, conveying thanks for the relief assistance provided for the flood affectees in Pakistan.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Qureshi expressed profound thanks to His Majesty King Abdullah for his generous and timely support to the flood affected people in Pakistan. He particularly appreciated the appeal His Majesty had made urging the people of Saudi Arabia for raising donations for the affectees. The appeal has attracted immense response from the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia. The Foreign Minister also underlined the great importance that Pakistan attaches to its relations with the Kingdom and noted that Saudi Arabia has always stood by Pakistan in its difficult times.

Prince Muqrim, who is also the real brother of King Abdullah, expressed deep sorrow over the destruction caused by the floods. He assured the Foreign Minister that Saudi Arabia regards Pakistan as one of the most important Islamic countries and that it is the Islamic duty of Saudi Arabia to help Pakistan in the time of its need. He also noted that a strong and prosperous Pakistan is in the interest of all the countries of the region.

Prince Muqrim expressed confidence that the resilient people of Pakistan would be able to overcome this difficult phase of their lives. He assured the Foreign Minister that Saudi Arabia would continue to provide all possible assistance to the brotherly people of Pakistan and help them in the rehabilitation and reconstruction phases.
