Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister accompanied by Secretary Commerce, Mr. Zafar Mahmood visited Warsaw, Poland from 7-8 September 2010.
During his visit, he met Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and had comprehensive discussions with them on Pakistan’s relations with Poland as well as the regional situation prevailing in South Asia with special reference to Afghanistan. The Foreign Minister sought Polish help in greater access to the EU market.
The Foreign Minister also had extensive interaction with the print and electronic media in which he, inter alia, underlined the important role being played by Pakistan in the ongoing fight against terror. He also commended Poland for its complementary role in Afghanistan also losing many Polish lives.
Accepting Foreign Minister’s invitation, Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski promised to visit Pakistan along with a business delegation towards the end of the year.
