Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Mr. Bernard R. Bot arrives in Islamabad on a two-day visit on 2 May 2006. Heading a ten—member delegation, Mr. Bernard R. Bot will call on the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, hold bilateral consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Foreign Minister Khurshid M. Kasuri and meet Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Mr. Mushahid Hussian Syed. The Dutch Foreign Minister will also visit Peshawar and call on the Governor and Chief Minister of the NWFP.

The visit will cover wide-ranging discussions with emphasis on further expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Pakistan-Netherlands relations have been steadily growing in diverse fields in the past several years, particularly after the landmark visit to the Netherlands by President General Pervez Musharraf in September 2004.
