INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR CALLS ON FOREIGN MINISTER
 


Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Ishak Latuconsina paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi today. This was his first meeting with the Foreign Minister after presenting his credentials to the President on 3 April 2009.
 
The Ambassador conveyed to the Foreign Minister warm greetings of the Indonesian Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Hassan Wirayuda, saying that Indonesia attached great importance to its relations with Pakistan and would continue supporting it in its fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
 
The Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction at cordial relations that existed between the two brotherly Muslim countries, including their close cooperation at several regional and international fora, including the Organisation of the Islamic Conference. He said that the two countries needed to focus more on expanding bilateral economic cooperation for the mutual benefit of their peoples. He thanked the government of Indonesia for support to Pakistan in the ongoing fight against terrorism and militancy.
 
 The Foreign Minister wished the Ambassador a pleasant and productive stay in Pakistan and assured him of government's full support in carrying out his duties.
