A meeting was held at the Foreign Office today to condole the sad demise of Ambassador Abdul Wahab Khan who passed away on 27 January 2010
Speaking on the occasion, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir paid rich tributes to the late Ambassador saying that he distinguished himself as a Foreign Service officer contributing to Pakistan's foreign policy and diplomatic achievements. As Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE and Oman, Ambassador Wahab Khan made solid contributions towards strengthening bilateral relations with these brotherly countries. He had also served as Chief of Protocol in the Foreign Office.
The Foreign Secretary said that the Foreign Office will always remember him for his services to the country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On behalf of the Foreign Office as well as on his own behalf, the Foreign Secretary conveyed heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family. At the end of the meeting, “Fatiah” was offered for the departed soul with prayers that may Allah Almighty give members of the bereaved family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
