SRI LANKAN FOREIGN MINISTER VISITS PAKISTAN

The Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr. Rohitha Bogollagama, is visiting Islamabad from 2-4 July 2008 to extend invitations to the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan for the SAARC meeting scheduled to be held in Colombo from 27 July - 3 August 2008.

Foreign Minister Bogollagama met Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi this morning and invited him to the SAARC Council of Ministers, which is scheduled to be held in Colombo immediately before the Summit . The two Ministers reviewed bilateral relations as well as cooperation under the auspices of SAARC.

The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister also paid a courtesy call on the President and conveyed to him the greetings of the President of Sri Lanka. The President congratulated Sri Lanka for hosting the 15 th SAARC Summit and hoped that the Summit would give further impetus to regional cooperation.
