Pakistan and Brazil will Continue Strengthening Bilateral Relations

(2017-12-07) "Pakistan and Brazil will establish a Joint Commission in 2018 to regularly review and deepen bilateral relations in all fields", Ambassador of Pakistan to Brazil H.E. Najm us Saqib stated after meeting the new Undersecretary General of Brazilian Foreign Office today adding that "finalization of Agreements on Technical Cooperation and Joint Commission will pave the way for increasing economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Brazil". Director Asia Oceania Ambassador Ary Quintella was also present in the meeting.

In a detailed session, Undersecretary General Ambassador Henrique Pinto and Ambassador Saqib reviewed the status of all bilateral Agreements and looked forward to keep working closely together for their early finalization. Ambassador Pinto noted that both Pakistan and Brazil enjoyed excellent and cordial relations while agreeing on having greater interaction between the two friendly countries through high level visits. In this regard, Ambassador Pinto warmly welcomed the upcoming visit of Secretary Commerce Mohammad Younus Dagha, who is scheduled to pay an official visit to Brazil from 13-15 December 2017. "Brazil welcomes and looks forward to having meaningful discussions with Secretary Dagha as this visit will serve as a base for the future level of bilateral cooperation and engagement between the two countries", he added.

Both Ambassadors discussed the regional situation especially the Middle East and South Asia and shared views on matters of mutual interest. Ambassador Saqib also briefed on the latest situation and developments taking place in South Asia.

Ambassador Henrique Pinto is a seasoned diplomat of Brazil with vast experience in the field of diplomacy and negotiations. He has recently joined the Brazilian Foreign Office as the Undersecretary General/In-charge of Asia and Pacific region.
