Travel Advisory Travel Advisory for South Sudan

In view of the precarious security situation in South Sudan that could pose serious risks to foreigners, all Pakistani nationals are advised to avoid unnecessary travel to South Sudan. Those residing/working in South Sudan are advised to evacuate their families and non-essential staff. They should refrain from traveling to conflict areas and be ready to leave the country at any moment should the situation worsen.

Travel Advisory for Pakistanis Re-Entering Italy Pakistanis holding Italian resident permits who are returning to Italy after staying in Pakistan, are advised to take the following into account regarding their duration of stay in Pakistan:

“The bearer of a valid resident permit is allowed to leave Italy for no more than six months if the permit has been issued for one year. If the permit has been issued for two years or more, the bearer is allowed to leave Italy for one year.

The bearer of an expired permit, provided he can produce the receipt of the application (by the Post Office in Italy) for the renewal within the period of validity of the previous one, can leave Italy for no more than 60 days.

All those who cannot comply with the rules mentioned above must apply for a reentry visa.”

Pakistani nationals are advised to refrain from unnecessary travel to Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen due to the ongoing conflict and uncertain security situation in these countries.

According to reports, existing out of these countries may be difficult due to damage to main airports and other transportation infrastructure. Moreover, since March 2015, the Pakistan Mission in Yemen is not functioning.

Therefore, Pakistani nationals traveling to Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen may avoid travel unless it is unavoidable.
