Profile of Mr. Asghar Ali Golo

Mr. Asghar Ali Golo, assumed the charge of Ambassador of Pakistan to Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia and South Sudan residence in Addis Ababa on 26th July 2016. He is a career diplomat. He speaks Urdu, English, Japanese, Balochi, Sindhi, Punjabi and Siraiki.

Prior to joining in the current post, Mr. Asghar Ali Golo was the Consul General of Pakistan, Toronto, Canada.

During his diplomatic career, Mr. Asghar Ali Golo has served in various specialized assignments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad. He served as head of Finance, Communication and Security Directorate; as Staff Officer to the Foreign Minister of Pakistan; as Deputy Director in the Africa Division; as Staff Officer to the Foreign Secretary; as Deputy Secretary Protocol Division.

Mr. Asghar Golo has served in various Pakistan Missions abroad including Tokyo, Japan; Glasgow, United Kingdom; and Tokyo, Japan.
Dakar (1992-1995)

Mr. Asghar Golo is an alumnus of National School of Public Policy. He attended Japanese Language Course at Japanese Language International Centre in Kita Urawa, Saitama, Japan. He also participated in the Art of Diplomacy Course in Singapore. As a PFS Probationer, he was trained at the Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad.

Mr. Asghar Golo is a medical doctor. He obtained Bachelor Degree in Medicine and worked in Civil Hospital, Karachi as well as in the rural hospital in Nasirabad, Balochistan.

Mr. Asghar Golo is married and blessed with two daughters and a son.
