(2017-09-18) The Embassy of Pakistan, Rome held the annual Pakistan Food Festival on its premises on 17th September 2017. This year's event raised money for Cancer Research.

Stalls of Pakistani handicrafts, spices and food were setup by members of the Pakistani community. A display stall was setup by the Embassy. On display were traditional products, shawls, jewellery and truck art items. Select clothing gifted by a famous Pakistani designer got a lot of admiration from the guests.

The event provided an opportunity to all participants to see/buy Pakistani handicrafts and enjoy the sumptuous Pakistani cuisine. Two traditional Dhol beaters entertained the audience. Participants also enjoyed the traditional folk and modern Pakistani music. A special play area designed for children equipped with a jumping castle and other amusement games remained packed with children during the day.

The festival raised an amount of Euro 5000/- which was handed over by Ambassador Riyaz to Dr. Silvia Trisolini and Professor Maurizio Martelli of the Policlinico Umberto I, Haematology Department for research activities for blood diseases. The gesture was widely appreciated. On behalf of the Research Center, Dr. Trisolini thanked the Embassy for the donation.
