Profile of H.E. Mr. Rizwan-ul-Haq Mahmood Ambassador of Pakistan to Morocco

Ambassador Rizwan-ul-Haq Mahmood was born on 25 April 1954. He attended Government College Lahore and thereafter joined Department of International Relations at the Quaid-e-Azam University for Master’s Degree. He joined Foreign Service in 1979 and after initial training at the Civil Service Academy, Lahore, attended Diplomatic Training Course at Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad. He was later selected for Diplomacy Course organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Government of Australia at Canberra. He also underwent a year long Arabic language course at the University of Modern Languages, Islamabad.

Ambassador Rizwan-ul-Haq Mahmood also attended NIPA Lahore and National Defence University Islamabad. He has held various assignments at Pakistan Missions abroad which include:

- Canberra (1984-87), Muscat (1988-91), Lisbon (1991-95) and Abu Dhabi (2001-2004). Also served as Consul General of Pakistan, at Jeddah and Pakistan's alternate permanent representative to OIC Jeddah.

He also held various posts at Headquarters including Director General(Personnel) and Director General(OIC).

He also attended numerous international courses including Information Technology Seminar Malta (1997) and Senior Executive Seminar at National Defence University Washington(2005).

Mr. Rizwan-ul-Haq Mahmood is Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Morocco since May 2007.

He is married, with three children.
