MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT (MRP)

  • As per decision by the Government of Pakistan, issuance of manual passports have been discontinued forthwith. Instead, Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) will be issued to every Pakistani citizen. This facility i.e. issuance of Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) has been started in Embassy of Pakistan, Warsaw, Poland with effect from 04 January 2016.
  • This Embassy processes Machine Readable Passport (MRP) applications of Pakistani citizens resident in Poland, Latvia and Estonia.
  • All Machine Readable Passports are issued at Islamabad by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, Government of Pakistan.

 

Requirements for Issuance of Machine Readable Passport (MRP)

First-time Issuance or Renewal of the Machine Readable Passport

English translation of any other supporting document not in English or Urdu.

a. Personal appearance of the passport applicant at the Embassy is mandatory for on-the-spot recording of biometric data (finger prints scanning), photographing etc.
b. Original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) along with its copy (both sides). In case the applicant does not have a valid original CNIC/NICOP, he will be required to first apply for NICOP. MRP is processed after NICOP preparation.
c. In case of married ladies, the CNIC must bear the name of husband along with its copy (both sides);
d. In case of minor children up to the age of 14 years, their original Child Registration Certificate (CRC) issued from NADRA and NICOP are required along with one copy;
e. Original Pakistani passport along with its copies from pages 1 to 7;
f. Original valid Polish/Latvian/Estonian visa/resident card along with its one copy (both sides);
h. Original bank deposit slip for payment of fee, clearly showing the exact amount, bank's original stamp and Embassy's relevant bank account number.
i. To facilitate processing/decision, the Embassy may ask for fulfilment of additional requirements.
j. The requirements for the renewal of a Machine Readable Passport are the same as those for its first time issuance.
k. Applicants' thumbs and index fingers of both right and left hands should be without any indelible colouring e.g. ink or henna (menhdi) for proper finger prints;
l. It is mandatory that both ears of the applicants are visible at the time of taking photograph;

 

Issuance of Passport in lieu of Lost Passporthttp://www.pakmissionfrankfurt.de/index_htm_files/0.gif

  • In case of loss of passport, following requirements in addition to the above mentioned requirements of a new passport are mandatory:-
  • Lost Passport Report from the local Police authorities mentioning name of applicant and Number of previous Passport and its translation in English;
  • English translation of any other supporting document not in English or Urdu

c) Photocopy of the lost passport, its number, date and place of issue, and date of its expiry.

  • Fees for issuance of Passport in lieu of lost passport are given in the fee table.

  • New passports in place of lost passports are issued only if the previous passport(s) are verified from Issuing Authority.

  • According to the instructions of the Government, Pakistan Missions abroad cannot extend passport facility to an applicant losing his passport for the third time.

  • In cases of third time loss, an Emergency Passport can be issued to the applicant only for repatriation to Pakistan.

Note: Applicants are advised to keep their passports in safe custody so as to avoid loss of this important travel document. If the passport is lost for the third time, further renewal is subject to its approval from Directorate General Immigration and Passports, Islamabad.

Modification in a Machine-Readable Passport

a. The Machine Readable Passport is issued on the basis of the applicant's CNIC/NICOP data.

b. Thus, any modification e.g., change in name, date of birth, place of birth desired in the MRP would necessitate first applying for the desired change in the CNIC/NICOP.

c. Processing of modification in the MRP is done after the receipt of the applicant's modified NICOP.

d. No endorsement is permitted in the MRP. Therefore, for any change/ modification, a new MRP is issued. Please check requirements for the MRP issuance in the relevant section.

e. Names of children cannot be included in parent's passport;

 

Issuance of a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) to a Newly-Born Baby/Children below 18 Years

a. Before issuance of passport to a newly born baby/Child below 18 years, his/her NICOP must be obtained from NADRA.

b. Once the NICOP is received from NADRA, the following requirements must be completed for applying MRP:

i. Personal appearance of the child at the Embassy is mandatory for photographing;

ii. The child must be accompanied by both parents/guardian;

iii. The father/mother/legal guardian will be required to sign a form which will be provided by the Embassy at the time of application. In case one of the parents is unable to come other should bring Authority Letter/No Objection Certificate (NOC) for issuance of Passport and original Travel documents of absentee parent;

ii. Original National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) of baby along with its copy (both sides);

iii. Original Pakistani Passport and CNIC or NICOP of the Father;

iv. Mother's Original passport and CNIC or NICOP showing husband's name. In case husband name is not mentioned on the passport or NICOP, original Nikah Nama or Marriage Certificate duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan should be provided;

v. Original Birth Certificate of the baby clearly stating baby's name, gender, date of birth, place of birth and parents names;

vi. English translation of any document not in English or Urdu;

vii. To facilitate processing/decision, the Embassy may ask for fulfilment of additional requirements.


Processing Time of MRP

a. Passport applied on Normal fee is, usually, delivered within 30 working days (4-5 weeks). That applied on Urgent fee is delivered within 15 working days (Two weeks).

b. The Processing Time is subject to the receipt of the prepared Passport from Directorate General if Immigration and passports Islamabad.


Application Procedure

The fee for MRP must be deposited in Embassy's account before coming to Embassy (Please see fee chart at the end of this page).

Applications for MRPs are accepted/processed during Monday-Thursday from 1000-1230 hours except on public holidays and during Ramadan.

Please make prior appointment before coming to Embassy on the Online Appointment System available on our website and take a printout of your appointment.

Upon reaching the Embassy contact Embassy reception. Present all required documents to the official at the counter. If all required documents are in order, the photograph bearing token will be issued and applicants are requested thereafter to proceed for finger prints and data entry, and if documents are not complete "new que token" is required for next turn after completing documents. So, please bring photocopies along with you for application for MRP.


Delivery of Passports

  • Delivery period for normal passports is about 4 to 5 weeks, while urgent passports are delivered in 12 to 14 days approximately which includes shipment time from Islamabad to Warsaw, Poland;

  • Applicants are required to collect their new passports from the Embassy in person. All the applicants will be informed telephonically or via Email when their passport will be ready to be picked up from the Embassy;

  • If no call/Email is received after the given time, please confirm over telephone/Email the availability of Passport before coming to Embassy;

  • The applicants should bring their previous original passport for cancellation stamp and the receipt at the time of delivery;

  • The new passports can be collected every Friday from 1000-1200 hours except on public holidays and during Ramadan;

  • However if due to some unavoidable circumstances, the applicants are unable to come to the Embassy in person, they can collect their new passports through a designated person who carries a signed authority letter from the applicant, his own identity and the applicant's previous passport;

  • Alternatively the applicants can obtain their new passport through DHL (with in Poland only). In such case, first they should send their previous original passport and New MRP Token/Receipt for cancellation along with return envelope with complete postal address of the applicant. Payment of the DHL will be paid by the applicant to the DHL person on receipt of shipment;

  • In case of applicants residing in Latvia and Estonia, the applicants must send their previous original passport for cancellation stamp and New MRP Token along with return envelope with complete address and arrange pick up of passport by post/Courier by themselves;

  • The Embassy will not be responsible for loss of passport through post/courier;

  • All computerized passports are issued from Islamabad. In case of some other query call on given telephone numbers from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

a) For applicants serving in the Government of Pakistan service, no objection letter (NOC) from their parent department and authorization from Directorate General of Immigration and Passports are mandatory.
b) In case of dual nationals, original passport of adopted country and its copy along with the Pakistani passport are required.
c) In case of Government Officer/Employee (Federal or Provincial departments of Pakistan/Autonomous/ Semi-Autonomous Departments/ Defence Forces), must bring original NOC and authorization from Directorate General of Immigration and Passports addressed to this Embassy for Issuance of Passport. The employees who have left Government service must also bring original Resignation Acceptance/ Service Termination Certificate.
d) If CNIC/NICOP is valid but picture does not match applicant's current facial features, picture on NICOP must be revised prior to coming for processing of Passport.




VISA

  • Please note that for issuance of any kind of visa your passport must be valid for at least six months.
  • Visa Fee is charged per person and not per passport. If children are endorsed on the passport, additional fee will be charged.
  • Visa fee once paid will not be refunded.
  • Visa would only be issued to only Polish, Latvian and Estonian Citizens or those who either have a permanent residence permit or have registered themselves with the residence registration authority in Poland, Latvia and Estonia.

Types of visas and documents required

a)         Visit/Tourist Visa

           
The applicant must provide:  

  • Two completed visa application forms filled out in black ink and in block letters.
  • Original passport along with one photocopy.
  • Four identical passport size photographs measuring 2x1.5 inches with light blue or white back ground.
  • Proof of permanent residence permit to be provided by an applicant who does not hold Polish nationality.
  • Proof of employment, if employed.
  • An invitation letter (in original) from inviting person duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.
  • In case of female candidates (below 18 years or dependant on parents) travelling alone must submit written and signed permission of their parents along with copies of their Polish ID Cards.
  • Fee for single entry Visit/Tourist visa is PLN 168.
  • Fee for double entry Visit/Tourist visa is PLN 336.

b)        Family visit visa for Pakistan origin Polish Nationals and Polish Spouses of Pakistani nationals: 

         
Following documents are required:

          Pakistan origin Polish nationals


          All the Pakistan origin Polish nationals who have not submitted their applications for renunciations in the Embassy are required to apply for renunciation of Pakistani citizenship as there is no bilateral agreement between Pakistan and Poland for dual nationality. After renunciation they can apply for Pakistan Origin Card (POC) which will enable them to travel to Pakistan without visa. For applying for renunciation kindly see “Renunciation”.

            Documents required for visa to Pakistan origin Polish nationals.

  • Two completed visa application forms filled out in black ink and in block letters.
  • Original passport along with one photocopy.
  • Four identical passport size photographs measuring 2x1.5 inches with light blue or white back ground.
  • Copy of previous Pakistani passport/CNIC. In case of already renounced Pakistani nationality attach copy of renunciation certificate only.
  • Fee for single entry family visa is PLN 168.
  • Fee for double/multiple  entry visa for one years is PLN 336.
  • Fee for multiple entry family visa for five years is calculated on the basis of PLN 336/- per year.

            Documents required for visa to Polish spouses and children of Pakistan nationals.

  • Two completed visa application forms filled out in black ink and in block letters.
  • Original passport along with one photocopy.
  • Four identical passport size photographs measuring 2x1.5 inches with light blue or white back ground.
  • Copy of marriage certificate duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan or Poland.
  • If the Polish child (below 18 years) will be travelling, a separate visa application on the same lines needs to be submitted. A written statement from his/her mother must be attached that the child will be travelling with her or she allows her child to travel without her.
  • In case of child’s visa, copy of birth certificate of the child duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Poland.
  • Fee for single entry family visa is PLN 168.
  • Fee for double/multiple entry visa is PLN 336.

c)        Business Visa 

         
 The applicant must provide:  

  • Two completed visa application forms filled out in black ink and in block letters.
  • Business Questionnaire with details of applicant’s company.
  • Original passport along with one photocopy.
  • Four identical passport size photographs measuring 2x1.5 inches with light blue or white back ground.
  • Proof of residence permit in Poland to be provided by an applicant who does not hold Polish nationality.
  • An invitation letter from a Pak-based company.
  • Supporting letter from Poland-based Company.
  • Fee for single entry Business visa is PLN 252/-
  • Fee for double/multiple entry business visa is PLN 504/-.


a)        Attestation of a legal document for Pakistani National

            The following documents are to be provided for attestation purposes:

  • For documents e.g. Birth certificate, Educational Certificates and affidavits issued from Pakistan, first they must be attested from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or Camp offices in Pakistan.
  • For transfer deeds and Power of Attorneys, the applicant's signature should be counter signed by two witnesses in Poland. The executants of deeds and Power of Attorneys must sign the documents in front of the Embassy’s official.
  • Applicant should provide a copy of the passport and I.D. Card of himself and the two witnesses.  
  • Original document along with its photocopy.
  •  The applicant has to appear in person for the attestation.
  • The attestation fee of PLN 6 per document should be deposited in the Bank:             

             Citi Handlowy Warszawa in the A/c No:06 1030 1061 0000 0000 3094 4000.

  • Original bank transfer slip should be attached with the document.


b)        Attestation of a commercial document/Polish Document

  • For any kind of commercial document issued by the Polish firms must be first attested by a Notary public (Notariusz), Polish Chamber of Commerce & Foreign Trade and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
  • The attestation fee per document should be deposited in the bank:

  • Original bank transfer slip should be attached with the document.
  • Fee for Attestation of Power of Attorney is PLN 1050/- (per document)
  • Fee for Legalization of original document/signatures is PLN. 160/- (per document)
  • Fee for attestation of Faktura or bill is PLN 315/- (per document)

RENUNCIATION OF CITIZENSHIP

         For renunciation of nationality individual must complete the under mentioned formalities:

Renunciation Certificate once received from IMPASS will be handed over to the applicant on production of NADRA online receipt of cancellation of ID card.

The Process of Renunciation of Pakistani Citizenship takes approximately six (6) Months.

Note:The Renunciation Certificate would be issued as per Form-X. Therefore, name spellings on Form-X, NICOP, Pakistan Passport, Assurance letter/foreign Passport should be the same. In case of any variation/name change, an application with supporting document may be attached with the application.

VERIFICATION OF PAKISTANI DRIVING LICENCE:

Following documents are required for issuance of verification letter for Pakistani driving license:

  1. Application written by applicant.
  2. Original + copy of Pakistani driving license.
  3. Copy of Pakistani ID card.
  4. Copy of Pakistani Passport.
  5. Copy of Polish ID card.

Note: In case, the driving license could be verified online from the official website of the license issuing authority, driving license verification letter will be issued by this Mission without referring the matter to authorities in Pakistan. However, if the driving license could not be verified online, the same has to be sent to the license issuing office in Pakistan and the process can take time for which there is no exact time frame. The Embassy will issue the verification letter once confirmation is received from the license issuing office in Pakistan.



NOC FOR MARRIAGE

           Following documents are required to be submitted by both (Pakistani and Polish citizens)

  • Birth Certificate (Original + One photocopy) duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan
  • No Objection/Permission of Parents on an Affidavit (duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan) that they have no objection to his/her getting married to a Polish National and also that he/she is not already married. (Original + One photocopy)
  • Un-married Certificate from Union Council (Original + One photocopy) duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan

             Polish National

  • Passport, if available (Original + One photocopy)
  • ID Card (Original + One photocopy)
  • Birth Certificate (Original + One photocopy)
  • Affidavit regarding his/her willingness to marry the Pakistani National, along with Notary of the Court duly attested by Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Poland. (Original + One photocopy)
  • Permission of Parents (Original + One photocopy)
  • Divorce Certificate (in case of divorce of the Polish National) (Original + One photocopy)
  • For NOC both the nationals must visit Embassy in person and the NOC will be issued on the same day without any fee.
  • No fee will be charged for issuance of NOC.



NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) and POC (Pakistan Origin Card)

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a Web Based Application System named as "Pak Identity" for processing of NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) and POC (Pakistan Origin Card) applications online in order to facilitate Pakistani expatriates. Now the expatriates can directly apply for their NICOP/POC Cards online.

Note: As per the instruction received from NADRA, Islamabad, the Embassy will not accept manual applications for NICOP/POC.
