MRP (Machine Readable / Computerized Passport)

Requirements for issuance of Machine Readable/Computerized Passport are the following:-

  • The applicants have to personally appear to process their passports.
  • Existing passport in original along with copies of first two pages and stamp page of residence permit.
  • Original valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) or Computerized National Identity Card(CNIC) and copies of both sides (with name of Husband for married ladies).
  • In case of minor children upto the age of 14 years their original Child Registration Certificate (CRC) issued from NADRA, or their NICOP may be presented at the time of applying for MRP, along with its one copy. Children above 14 years must present NICOPs.
  • Original valid Tanzanian work/resident permit along with its one copy.
  • In case of lost passport, original Police lost report mentioning number of lost passport and copy of lost passport first two pages.
  • Fee in US Dollar will be paid at the High Commission.

    Please visit https://onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk/ Online MRP facility e-Services Portal is the front door to Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for online service for Pakistani citizens around the world. You can use e-Services Portal to apply for renewal of your Machine Readable Passport, if your passport has expired OR its validity is less than 7 months.

    Important note for applying Pakistani Passport:
    Valid and Original Pakistani Identity Card (CNIC or NICOP) is a mandatory requirement for applying Pakistani passport. If you do not have valid/original ID card apply ONLINE and bring original for Passport processing. No application for Passport can be entertained without original/Valid Pakistani identity card.



    NICOP/POC

    Online facility for National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), Pakistan Origin Card (POC) and Family Registration Certificate (FRC). NADRA has launched Web Based Application System "Pak Identity" for processing ofNICOP, POC and FRC.

    Now NICOP, POC and FRC can only be applied online via NADRA's website http://id.nadra.gov.pk/

    Requirement of documents for visa

  • Duly filled in visa application form along with a copy of passport and two passport size photographs.
  • Visa form attached.
  • Applicant should be resident of Tanzania.
  • Return air-ticket or ticket showing onward journey in case of transit visa.
  • International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever.
  • A letter from the employer/guardian.
  • Employer's letter and confirmed hotel booking in Pakistan in case of tourist visa
  • A letter from the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Firm/Business Profile and Invitation Letter from the counterpart in Pakistan, if travelling for business purpose.
  • A note from concerned Mission in case of holding Diplomatic/Official Passport, if holding UN Laissez-Passer, a note from UN office.
  • Study visas are issued only on receipt of admission letter/No Objection Certificate from the concerned authorities of the Government of Pakistan.
  • When one parent is travelling with children (16 years or below), no objection from the other parent, in writing with copy of ID.
  • Fee to be deposited after approval of the visa application.


  • Note: Tourist/Business visas cannot be converted into work visa after entering into Pakistan.
