Pakistan and Tanzania maintain a friendly and cooperative diplomatic relationship, which has been strengthened over the years through various initiatives and mutual efforts to enhance bilateral ties. These relations encompass political, economic, and cultural dimensions, contributing to the overall partnership between the two countries. Pakistan established its High Commission in Tanzania in 1967. The two countries have maintained good cooperation in sharing of expertise and technical know-how to assist and complement each other. Pakistan has provided institutional capacity building training programs to Tanzanian diplomats, bankers, railways, postal as well as armed forces officers.

b. Trade Relations

Pakistan and Tanzania share a trade relationship that involves the exchange of various goods and services.Total trade volume between Pakistan and Tanzania was US$ 301 million in 2023. The trade volume has shown a positive trend over the years, with both countries expressing interest in further enhancing bilateral trade.Pakistan mainly exports textiles, cotton, electrical and electronics, industrial products, machinery, bulldozers and tractors. Tanzania exports agricultural products such as cashew nuts, raw cotton, coffee, tea, and cloves to Pakistan.Trade delegations from both countries regularly visit each other to explore opportunities and strengthen commercial ties.
