Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan assumed charge as Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 2 September 2026. He concurrently serves as Director General (South Asia & SAARC).

He joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in February 2000 and holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Punjab, Lahore.

During his career, he has served in several key positions at the Ministry, including Director (Africa), Director (USA), Director (Organization & Career Planning), Director (Foreign Service Academy), Director General (Parliamentary Affairs), and Director General (South Asia & SAARC).

His overseas assignments include postings in Syria, Hungary, Germany, and Indonesia. He served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus from October 2020 to December 2024.

Ambassador Khan has attended professional training programmes in Pakistan and abroad, including in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the United States, Germany, and Indonesia. He is a graduate of the National Defence University, Islamabad.

He speaks Urdu, English, Arabic, and Balti, and has basic knowledge of German, Bahasa Indonesia, and Russian.
