Issuance and Renewal of Machine Readable Passports
The Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna issues Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) in full compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Following the establishment of the MRP facility at the Embassy, the issuance of manual passports has been permanently discontinued.
Eligibilit
MRP services are available to:
- Members of the Pakistani diaspora residing in Austria and Slovakia.
- Hungarian citizens (applications accepted at this Embassy).
Emergency Cases
Emergency requests (lost/damaged passports) are processed on a case-by-case basis, and in extreme emergency situations.
The requisite preocudres are detailed below.
Renewal of MRP
- Presence of the applicant is mandatory for Biometrics.
- Original valid CNIC/NICOP and Photocopy.
- Original Machine Readable Pakistani Passport and Photocopy.
- Original Residence Card and Meldezettel Certificate and their Photocopies.
Lost Cases
Children below 18 Years of Age
- Presence of the applicant is mandatory for Biometrics.
- Original valid CNIC/NICOP and Photocopy.
- Original Machine Readable Pakistani Passport and Photocopy.
- Original Residence Card and Meldezettel Certificate and their Photocopies.
- The original Pakistani Identity card of the parents and photocopies.
- Presence of one of the parents is mandatory.
- Original Pakistani Birth Certificate or Austrian/Slovakian certificate respectively.
- If the both paretns are working, they may provide a written authority to children for the passport processing.
- The government has recently revised the passport policy for minors, please note the following requirements for Passport:-
- Pakistani CNIC can be obtained online (Click here)
- Authority letter by parents duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Photocopy of Birth certificate
- Photocopy of mother & father CNIC card
Issuance of MRP for New Born
- Parents, as a pre-requisite, must apply for NICOP & Child Registration Certificate (CRC) online through https://id.nadra.gov.pk/.
- Presence of the applicant is mandatory.
- Original valid CNIC/NICOP and photocopy of the applicant.
- Original and valid residence permit card of the applicant along with photocopy.
- Meldezettel both original and copy.
- Original birth certificate of new born and copy.
- Original and copies of CNIC/NICOP and passports of parents.
- Original and valid residence permit card of the parents along with photocopy.
- Original Marriage Registration Certificate along with photocopy attested by the concerned Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Original Machine Readable Pakistani Passport and Photocopy.
Applicants with Duplicate Identity
Passport Collection
- For Passport Collection, applicants are requested to:
- Please appear in person and bring the original Token Receipt and previous passport if any.
- In case of token loss, an affidavit must be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy.
- The provision of Authority Letter, along with original token and previous passport, will be required to collect passport on someone's behalf.
Issuance of Emergency Travel Document (ETD) and Visas
- Emergency Family Visit visas only, can be issued by the Consular Section on closed holidays and weekends. The applicant needs to submit the visa application online at https://visa.nadra.gov.pk/.
- Please read the guidelines and apply for the correct category of visa.
- The Emergency Travel Document (ETD), is issued to Pakistani nationals for traveling back to Pakistan only in extreme emergency cases when their Pakistani Passport is not available, lost OR they are not eligible for issuance of a new passport/renewal of passport.
The applicant must submit proof of genuine emergency for issuance of an Emergency Travel Document (ETD).

Monday to Thursday: 1000–1300 hours
