Buenos Aires Mission

The Embassy of Pakistan in Buenos Aires hosted a grand reception on 8th April 2025, to commemorate the 86th National Day of Pakistan. The event brought together over 150 distinguished guests including Ambassadors, Senior Government officials, representatives from private sector, academia and media persons. In his key note address, Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan highlighted the deep rooted bilateral relations between Pakistan and Argentina and the immense potential for further collaboration between the two nations. The Ambassador also congratulated the Pakistani community on the National Day. The event also featured a display of Pakistani products including sports goods, sports wear, handicrafts, rugs, salt lamps and agricultural products like Pink salt and Basmati rice etc., drawing admiration from attendees. Guests were also treated to traditional Pakistani cuisine such as Biryani, chicken curry and lamb kebabs etc. offering a taste of Pakistan's rich culinary heritage.

Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan, accompanied by the TIC visited the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) for an in-depth meeting with Mr. Marcelo Elizondo, Secretary General of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services, and his team. During the meeting, a comprehensive briefing was provided on business opportunities available in Pakistan. Additionally, the establishment of institutional relations with its counterpart (FPCCI) was discussed. Furthermore, an invitation for the 4th HEMS was extended.

On 18th March, the Trade & Investment Counsellor had an indepth meeting with Ms. Karen Jackeline Mendez Soleto, the commercial counsellor of Bolivia in Argentina.The discussion focussed on enhancing Trade cooperation and collaborationbetween the countries in key sectors.

On 13th March, the Commercial section attended Expo Agro in San Nicolas, the largest Agroindustrial Exhibition of Argentina and held productive exchange meetings with the leading Agroindustrial companies IPESA, OMBU, Martinezystaneck, Cestari & Richiger etc. The discussion focused on potential collaboration opportunities in the field of Agro industry aiming to stregthen ties between Pakistan & Argentina

On 12th March, the Trade & Investment Counsellor participated in the Business Round in Industrial Park , Florencia Varella, organized by the Ministry of Production of the Province of Buenos Aires and was recieved by Mayor Andres Watson and Mr. Augusto Costa. During the Business round, leading multisectoral companies visited and they were briefed about the Pakistan's main export sectors as well as business and investment opportunities available in Pakistan. Detailed briefing about HEMS was also given during the round.

A group of university students belonging to Universidad de Congreso, Province of Mendoza, visited the Embassy of Pakistan, as a part of their academic project , on 17th February 2025. The basic aim of the visit was to learn about the political, diplomatic, economic and trade dynamics of Pakistan.H.E Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan briefed the students about the cultural, political & economic aspects of Pakistan and also about the diplomatic relations between the countries. TIC responded to their questions about bilateral trade between the countries.The visit ended with the vote of thanks by the group leader of the university students.

On 13th Feb 2025, the commercial section had a productive meeting with Mr. Sebastian Mondino and Mr. Jorge, owners of M/s DSK, the leading sports brand of Argentina. DSK is importing soccer & rugby balls from Pakistan and are suppliers of balls to the Argentine National teams. The company is planning to increase import volume from Pakistan and is now diversifying in volley balls and sports gloves too. DSK thanked commercial section for facilitation provided during their visit to Pakistan in November 2024. They were invited for HEMS too, as now they are also interested in importing sports wear from Pakistan.

A team of experts from Argentine National Administration of Drugs, Food & Medical technology (ANMAT), comprising Ms. Sabrina Carla, Incharge international affairs, Mr. Fabian quinta, Director, office of institutional relations and Mr. Lucas Duarte , International relations program, ANMAT visited the Embassy of Pakistan in Argentina for a meeting with the Trade & Investment Counsellor. During the meeting, issues related to streamlining of the registration processes for pharmaceutical exports from Pakistan to Argentina were deliberated upon in detail. Way forward to enhance the exports of surgical instruments & medical devices from Pakistan was also discussed. ANMAT has been invited to attend 4th Health, Engineering and Minerals Show (HEMS) scheduled to be held in Pakistan from 17-19th April 2025.

On 12th February 2025, the mission organised a webinar on business opportunities available in Pakistan and for promotion of 4th Health, Engineering & Minerals Show (HEMS) scheduled to be held in Pakistan in April 2025 , for the business companies and senior members of Argentine Chamber of External Commerce in Rosario, the industrial hub of Argentina. The buyers showed interest in the upcoming exhibition and detailed presentation was given to them. President of the chamber, Mr. Sergio Rodriguez, has already registered himself for the HEMS.

On 14th February 2025, Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan held a meeting alongwith the TIC, with Mr. Javier Viveros, Vice Minister of Commerce and Head of Trade promotion Organisation (REDIEX) in Paraguay via zoom. During the interaction, the vice Minister was briefed regarding trade opportunities available in Pakistan. The Vice minister expressed interest in developing institutional linkages with TDAP for increased B2B connections. Invite for 4th Health, Engineering & Minerals Show (HEMS) was also extended to the business community of Paraguay through vice minister and REDIEX.

Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan visited the Undersecretariat of Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries , Argentine Ministry of Economy and had a detailed meeting with Mr. Sergio Iraeta , Secretary Agriculture and his team. During the meeting, ways and means to enhance Agricultural cooperation between the countries were deliberated upon.

During the second week of December, Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan visited the Republic of Chile to attend the Ceremony for transfer of Pro-tempore presidency of Pacific Alliance. During the visit, he and the Trade Investment Counsellor had productive meetings with Mr. Jose Miguel Gonzalez, Minister Counsellor, Asia-Pacific Affairs Division , MOFA , Mr. Sebastian Gomez Fiedler, Director General of Bilateral Economic Affais , SUBREI, MOFA and Mr. Ignachi Recart, Deputy Head of Asia & Oceania at Pro-Chile, MOFA. During these interactions, way forward to enhance the bilateral trade was discussed. Ambassador also met the Pakistani community members in Chile. During the session, matters related to visa issues and service delivery were discussed at length. Consular services were also provided to the Pakistani community by the consular team at Santiago and Iquique.

On 20 Dec 2024, Embassy of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and PSEB successfully organised a webinar titled " Exploring opportunities in the IT & ITes between Pakistan and Paraguay". During the webinar, opportunities available in the IT sector of Pakistan were presented to the number of interested leading Paraguyan IT companies and chambers , participating in the session, who showed a lot of interest in exploring Pakistan's IT sector. This webinar is a part of Embassy's efforts to strengthen trade ties and explore collaborations between Pakistan and South America, particularly in IT sector.
