Buenos Aires Mission

An E-katcheri was held yesterday in the Embassy of Pakistan, Buenos Aires to address the concerns of the Pakistani communities in Argentina and accredited countries. Thanks to everyone who participated and shared their thoughts.

The Commercial Counsellor participated in the Multisector Business Roundtable organized by the Ministry of Production, Science & Technological innovation of the province of Buenos Aires in collaboration with the Municipality of Avellaneda. During the Business round, major leading multisector companies visited and they were briefed about the main export sectors of Pakistan. Argentine textile companies also apprised about the Pakistani textile & leather sector and invited to the upcoming TEXPO scheduled in October in Pakistan.

The Mayor of Las Parejas, Argentina, Mr. Horacio Compagnucci along with his team visited the Embassy to call on the Ambassador. During the meeting , areas of cooperation in agriculture development and commerce were discussed. On the sidelines , an MOU on cooperation in agricultural machinery , research and development was also signed.

Today, Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Government of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of Political Consultations between the two countries amidst a special signing ceremony organised at the Embassy of Uruguay in Buenos Aires. Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan signed the MOU on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, where as the Government of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay was represented by Ambassador Carlos Enciso Christiansen. The main thrust of the MOU is to promote political consultations and relationship through the Foreign Ministries of the countries. On the sidelines of the ceremony, various areas of collaboration in trade, goods & services and investment were also discussed. Ambassador invited the businessmen from Uruguay through their embassy to attend the upcoming TEXPO scheduled in Pakistan in October 2024.

Marking the 5th Anniversary of "Youm-e-Istehsal", the Embassy of Pakistan, Buenos Aires organised an event on 5th August 2024. Ambassador Hassan highlighted the importance of the day and urged International Community to play an active role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UNSC resolutions and as per the aspirations of Kashmiris.

A delegation of university students and graduates belonging to COMEX-RRII Lanus Volunteer Program for LATAM and MERCOSUR lead by Mr. Guillermo Valin, Director of the group and honorary ambassador of the World organisation of Ambassadors, visited the Embassy of Pakistan in Buenosaires, on 5th July, 2024. The aim of visit was to know about the cultural, political, economic, trade and investment aspects of Pakistan. Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan welcomed the group and briefed them about the cultural, political and economic dynamics of Pakistan. TIC apprised the delegates about the trade and investment profile of the country as well as the bilateral trade between the two countries

TIC visited the Argentine M/o Foreign affairs, International Trade and Worship and has a productive meeting with Minister Silvina Katcherian, Directorate of Economic Relations with Asia and Oceania of the ministry. During the meeting market access issues and finalization of MoUs were discussed in particular alongwith the areas of collaboration to promote trade and investment between the two countries.

In collaboration with the Argentine Chamber of Asia & Pacific, a webinar was organised on Trade & Investment opportunities in Pakistan in general and on 2nd Edition of international Food & Agriculture Exhibition being organised in Pakistan from 9-11 August, in particular. More than 70 stakeholders attended the session.The purpose of the webinar was to present the Trade & Investment opportunities available in Pakistan, to disseminate the information regarding Food Ag exhibition and to invite the businessmen and buyers to this Exhibition in Pakistan.

Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan along with the Trade & Investment Counsellor visited the company IPESA Silos in Buenos Aires on 11 June 2024. The visit was arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Republic of Argentina. The aim of visit was to explore technical aspects and advantages of the Silo bags system for storage and preservation of grains.

The Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan alongwith Trade & Investment Counsellor , had a productive meeting with Mr.Piet Verdult, President Mercosur-Asean Chamber of Commerce (MACC) on 15th May, 2024.The discussion revolved around the matters regarding Export of Textiles , Sports Goods and Surgical instruments amongst other potential products from Pakistan to Argentina.The President MACC assured of his maximum support to mission for enhanced bilateral trade in the region.
